26 July 2012 / Categories: Recent Results and Events, 2012 IC of GB vs. Vets Club of GB - 18th July 2012 IC of GB vs. Vets Club of GB Venue: St Georges Hill LTC Date: 18 July 2012 This match has been running for more than 50 years and has been held at St Georges for the last 20 years. The match is mostly played on the grass at St Georges. However, this year’s poor weather continued with rain on the evening curtailing the format. One round was played in drizzling rain. Representing the IC of GB in the 60s, were Roger Ambrose, Roy Henderson, Clive Hutchins and Mike Carroll. In the 45s the team was Sean Cole, Simon Curtis, Chris Hearn and Boyd Cuthbertson. The match was won by the IC of GB by a 2 ½ to 1 ½ margin. The rain did not dampen the evening meal which was a BBQ (eaten indoors). Attached are photographs of the players and some wives who loyally supported the men in the rain. Our thanks to St Georges again for hosting the event.
