09 July 2012 / Categories: Recent Results and Events, 2012 Hurlingham Garden Party On Sunday 24 June 2012 the annual Garden Party took place at the beautiful Hurlingham Club in Ranelagh Gardens, London. The programme contained many events such as croquet, bowls, fencing, laser clay pigeon shooting etc while the Silk Street New Orleans Jazz Band provided the music. The main event of the day is however tennis. The IC of GB played a match against pre-Wimbledon guests Austria and Switzerland who were joined by some representatives of the IC of Spain. GB won 8 matches, Austria 7 and Switzerland/Spain 5. The highlight of the day was an exhibition match played by four Wimbledon doubles stars Jamie Murray with Eric Butorac against Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski. A large crowd enjoyed the masterful tennis and quick exchanges between these doubles specialists. Our special thanks go once again to Kevin Ullyett who organised the doubles match.
