09 July 2012 / Categories: Recent Results and Events, 2012 Austria and Switzerland at St. George’s Hill June 2012 Our pre Championship International guests at St George's Hill Lawn Tennis Club this year were the ICs of Austria and Switzerland. Unfortunately, for the second year in succession, the weather was not too kind with intermittent showers meaning that no grass court play was possible. However, we were able to play a shortened match on a combination of artificial grass, clay and indoor courts. As one would expect the tennis was of a high standard and featured former Davis Cup players and a current Veteran World Champion. On completion of the matches GB had 6.5 wins, Switzerland 5 wins and Austria 1.5 wins. The day finished with an excellent supper in the Tarrant Room attended by nearly 50 people.
