Match Result: IC of GB 8 – 5 IC of The Netherlands
Date: Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th November 2016
Venue: Heuverlrug Tennis Centre, The Netherlands

The IC of GB team won a close match against the IC of The Netherlands at the Heuverlrug Tennis Centre with a team that consisted of Katie O'Brian, Susie Dart, Damien Jackson (guest player) Adam Boucher, Simon Curtis and Nigel Mann.

Our ladies, led by the stunning tennis of Katie O'Brian, came away with a fabulous 100% win record (two singles, doubles and mixed doubles wins), with the men chipping in wins from Nigel Mann in the +55 singles and Simon and Nigel in +45/+55 doubles. Pretty impressive performance considering the strong Dutch line-up that included three +45 World Team Champions, an ex-Davis Cup player and two +45 doubles specialists with four ATP tour titles between them.

Special mention to Damien, who played three brilliant matches, just being edged out in three champion tie-breaks, but came home with a convincing win, partnering Katie in the crucial second day mixed match.

A great time was had by all. Our thanks to the Dutch IC for hosting the event and for their hospitality and friendship.
