Tour to Mexico

After the successful tours to South Africa and South America we are now planning a tour to beautiful Mexico in February next year. Mexico has been chosen because it is a unique country with a rich history, a diverse culture, a breathtaking country side with a highly varied scenery and spectacular beaches on the Pacific and the Caribbean. The climate is attractive, although it can be quite hot. The IC of Mexico is an active Club, very keen on us coming to visit them and extremely helpful with the preparations of the programme. The tour is being organised by Mike Dawe and Henk Nijeboer.

The plan is to be away for just over two weeks leaving on Friday 17 February 2012 and returning on Sunday 4 March. Flights would be with BA both ways with the first stop in Mexico City where we will be spending 4 nights. We will play a match there, visit the pyramids and doing a lot of sightseeing. Then by bus to Cuernavaca and Taxco, the silver town, and on to Acapulco on the Pacific for 4 nights. There is another match there and we will also be watching the ATP tournament from the VIP stands. This is followed by a flight either back to Mexico City or to Guadalajara for the third and final match before we fly on to Merida in the Yucatan. There we will be visiting the famous Mayan site of Chichen-Itza before we spend the final 3 nights on the coast at Playa del Carmen. Return flight is from Cancun.

The cost including flights is estimated to be around £2500 p.p. sharing or £3100 for single occupancy. This is obviously subject to change particularly if the dollar/pound exchange rate were to vary from today's rate.

The size of the group will need to be limited for practical reasons to 20. There will be a lot of preparation required and we would therefore need your indication of interest sooner rather than later but at any rate before 15th May. Please send an email to henknijeboer@btopenworld.com or call on 01483-722586. Mike and I look forward to hear from you.
