IC TENNIS / GOLF CHALLENGE

Match Result: IC of GB finished 3rd
Date: Friday 14th and Saturday 15th August
Venue: Uriage, France

The IC of GB sent a team to compete in the 27th Tennis Golf Challenge in the pictures mountain resort of Uriage in France. The GB team consisted of two tennis players, Simon Curtis and Russell Howat, two tennis & golfers, David Culshaw and Tony Munsey, and two golfers, Shamus Donald and Sarah-Jane Curtis.

Unfortunately we drew France on Friday who on home territory were far too strong for us on the clay, but we managed to win two golf matches restoring some credibility. France went on to win the final comfortably against Belgium and we picked up third position with a comfortable win over Italy.

Our thanks go out to the IC of France for hosting a wonderful event, which culminated in a dinner and impromptu dance (where we discovered that one of the French team was a national ceroc champion) at the Casino next to our hotel. The team would all highly recommend a visit to this beautiful spar resort in the mountains of France, stunning scenery, tennis and golf facilities and of course the local cuisine.

In 2017 the IC of GB will host the 28th annual Tennis Golf Challenge. We hope to field a very strong team to challenge for the trophy that we have not won for eight years.
