IC OF IRELAND

HOUSE PARTY
Result: IC of GB 5  – 10 IC of Ireland

The Irish team arrived Friday afternoon and the prematch welcoming supper party was held at Toni Thompson and John McConville's beautiful home in Otford. They truly put on a wonderful evening of fabulous food and wine. 

The match was played at Limpsfield LTC on Saturday and despite inclement weather being forecast we were blessed with glorious sunshine all day. The match consisted of 2 singles and 1 doubles for the 2 x under 30's men; 4 men's doubles; 4 ladies doubles; 4 mixed doubles. Many matches went to long deciding championship tiebreaks, but the Irish prevailed 10-5 in the end.

Following post match drinks at the tennis club, the teams adjourned to Peter and Jane Hannon's home in Woldingham for the post match party. We were delighted to have our Chairman, David Waite, and his wife Gill, attend. The President of the Irish IC, Declan Heavey, and his wife Liz, flew over Saturday lunchtime to catch the afternoon's tennis and the party.

We all met again at a local country pub on Sunday on the way to Gatwick for a quick lunch before the flight home.
