20 September 2009 / Categories: Recent Results and Events, 2009 IC Netherlands, 19th – 20th September 2009 Rotterdam on 19th and 20th September was the venue for our annual match against the Dutch IC. Once again the Dutch IC turned out a very strong team, which despite some resilient GB efforts on the clay, won the event comfortably 11 rubbers to 2. We managed to win a couple of rubbers on Saturday. On Sunday the Dutch team lost one of their weaker singles players on Sunday, only to be replaced by Michiel Schapers! Congratulations to Mark Koevermans captain of the Dutch IC on his recent appointment as commercial director of Fayernood Football Club and our appreciation to him for his kind invitation to watch them play on Sunday after the match. Everyone enjoyed the tennis and the warm hospitality from our friends at the Dutch IC. We look forward to entertaining them on our grass courts next year.
