IC of Luxembourg, 24th - 25th April 2010

After much uncertainty due to the Icelandic volcanic ash saga and flight disruptions, the match went ahead without problems. All the GB players had no delays with their flights which allowed us to have a good afternoon`s practice on the clay courts of the Tennis Club Spora, Luxembourg. The tie was played in brilliant sunshine and after a few close and enjoyable to watch battles, GB ended winning by 8 matches to 4. More importantly, the Luxembourg team treated us all extremely well and we were fortunate to be invited out to well-known restaurants both in and out of the city. The President of the I.C of Luxembourg, Josi Offenheim, also invited us to his charming penthouse in central Luxembourg for a champagne reception. For all the hard work thrown towards arranging this fixture including organising accommodation for the team at a nice hotel in the centre of the town, Henri Reiter was made an Honorary Member of the International Club of Great Britain.
