02 November 2011 / Categories: Recent Results and Events, 2011 GB had a tight win against France As you can see from the results (see full results below) we had a great win of 18-14. it was another super weekend with so many good matches. We basically secured the win just before the final round of matches on sunday (so was a very close run thing!). We had really the maximum number of matches possible for the 2 day period with 32 matches. And pretty lucky that we could put the odd match onto the velelux courts aswell. Special mention of thanks needs to go to the following players for stepping into the breach at the VERY last minute due to a number of unfortunate withdrawls:- Roger Ambrose - on the day! Niall Sweeney Jim May Keith Bland Roy Henderson Steve Algar Fran Mclennan Ian Thomas (non ic member but would be a good addition!). Sue Hill Special mention on epic match wins Anthea Stewart for not losing many games at all!! Colin Beecher, steph Cornish and Lucy Ahl and Anthea Stewart winning over 2 days! Graham Neale come back match after being a set down on sunday. Doubles specialist Karen Hunter with Ann Ely strong wins! We had a great group of players who were really great fun to be with. The french were also very relaxed and friendly and again loved playing at the AELTC. The lunches were really good (FMC) with a rolling buffet held over at the indoors which worked superbly.
