IC Tennis / Golf Challenge (GB, France, Belgium and Italy) 14th – 16th September 2017 Result: IC of GB finished 3rd Venue: Royal Tennis Club & Royal Golf Club, Liege, Belgium The annual tennis and golf fixture took place in the city of Liege in Belgium at the Royal Tennis and Royal Golf Clubs, both stunning venues with superb facilities and hospitality. Thankfully we had four indoor clay courts at our disposal on a rainy Friday, moving to the outside clay on Friday. Congratulations to our hosts, the IC of Belgium, on winning the event, beating France in the final 5 rubbers to 2. A tremendous feat against a very strong French side who fielded their over 55 and 60's national champion, over 45's semi-finalist and an ex top 100 player. The IC of GB, Captained by Simon Curtis lost out to France in the semi-final 4 rubbers to 3, with some noticeable performances by Benson Greatrex and Shamus Donald on the golf course! Two days of tennis and golf were followed by a lovely meal and speeches at the Royal Liege Golf Club. We would especially like to thank Patrick Lemaire for organising this years event, which also included two nights out at two wonderful typically Belgium restaurants.
