The club was extremely hospitable for this event allowing the IC 5 courts on which to play the match. They provided a buffet lunch and later the bar did a healthy trade as the day was sunny and warm. The match was extremely tight with the IC of Ireland leading 4 matches to 3 up until the last half an hour. The IC of GB managed to turn the open category men’s doubles into a win in the third set tie break thus making it 4-4. This was closely followed by Tony Ballardie and Sara Morton winning the final rubber.
