DAY 2 - IC U16 JUNIOR CHALLENGE WORLDWIDE FINALS

Welcome to the Day 2 round-up from the IC U16 Junior Challenge Worldwide Finals at The All England Lawn Tennis Club. Today's order of play saw Japan beat Argentina 4-2; Great Britain beat South Africa 4-2; and the USA beat Italy 4-3 following a mixed doubles play-off match. The USA and Great Britain currently top the leader board with 2 wins a piece.

Japan 4 - 2 Argentina
Japan got off to a 3-1 lead after the singles matches were completed in glorious sunshine on the grass courts at Wimbledon. Genaro Alberto Olivieri secured Argentina's win at number one boys singles with a 10-8 champions tie-break win. The doubles was split, with wins for the Japanese girls and Argentinian boys.

South Africa 2 - 4 Great Britain
South Africa and Great Britain were level 2-2 after the first two rounds of singles were completed today, all of which were highly competitive. The British boys won both of their matches as did the South African girls. However, the Brits proved too strong in the doubles, winning both matches in straight sets.

Italy 3 - 4 USA
All four singles matches in the clash between Italy and the USA went to third set champions tie-breaks today. Both Italian boys were victorious as were the American girls duo of Arconada and Kingsley; levelling the match at 2-2. The doubles was split which meant a play-off mixed doubles champions tie-break which the USA won 10-8 to decide the match.
